THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF AMHERSTBURG
is recruiting for a
 
DIRECTOR OF PARKS, FACILITIES, RECREATION AND CULTURE
 
Reporting to the CAO, the Director of Parks, Facilities, Recreation and Culture is responsible for providing overall administration and direction to the Town’s Recreation and Culture divisions including recreation facilities, parklands, tourism, and facilities maintenance.
 
The successful candidate will have an undergraduate or master’s degree in recreation, public administration, business administration, engineering or a related discipline. 7 to 10 years’ progressive experience managing building facilities, parks or recreational facilities is required, preferably in a municipal setting. Certification as a Real Property Administrator (RPA) or Certified Facility Manager (CFM) will be considered assets. The candidate must possess strong organization and communication skills along with excellent skills in negotiation, team building, leadership, and supervision. General knowledge of technical systems, such as HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical systems, swimming pools, building maintenance and preventative maintenance systems, is required.
