The Corporation of the Town of Arnprior invites applications for the position of:

Manager of Recreation

Job Type: Permanent Full-Time Position
Work Location: Nick Smith Centre
Reports to: General Manager, Client Services/Treasurer
Hours: 35 hours/week
Salary: Grade 12: $74,158 to $87,245 (Under Review)
Job Summary: Under the general direction of the General Manager, Client Services/Treasurer, the Manager of Recreation is responsible for the effective planning, administration, management and operation of the Corporation’s recreation administration and program services, in accordance with related legislation, policies and regulations. The Manager participates in the development and implementation of operational planning as well as procedures, goals and objectives for Recreation Services. The role is accountable for the forecasting, preparation and control of operating and capital budgets. Responsibilities include providing recommendations and support to the General Manager, Client Services/Treasurer on matters relating to Recreation Services, as a branch of the Client Services Department. The Manager will prepare reports/presentations and attend meetings as required, provide direct supervision and guidance to the Recreation Supervisors, Customer Service Representative(s), programming staff, and volunteer(s) responsible for Town recreation services, participate in employee/labour relations, maintain safe work measures and provide leadership support for all Program and Administrative Recreation staff.
Qualifications: The successful candidate shall have completed a post-secondary diploma or undergraduate degree in recreation studies (or related field), possess current First Aid and CPR Certifications, a Pool Supervisors Certificate and Ontario Recreation Facilities Association (ORFA) Certification (or the ability to acquire within a reasonable time period). The candidate will have a minimum of five-six (5-6) years of progressive experience in municipal government and in the management of recreation programs, including at least five (5) years of supervisory and/or management experience. They will also possess an understanding of expenditures, and forecasting, preparing and monitoring annual capital and operation budgets.
