This position is responsible for managing the Approvals Section of the Engineering & Development Services Department. The position coordinates the City’s review and approval of development applications including Plans of Subdivision/Condominium, Site Plan Approval and Agreement Applications and Committee of Adjustment Applications.
The position provides professional advice regarding development approvals processes, procedures and legislated requirements. Responsible for administration of the Committee of Adjustment, Property Standards Committee, Court of Revision, Property Clearance Letters and Planning Approvals of Building Permit Applications.
Essential (minimum) Qualifications:
  • Four (4) year University Degree in Planning
Essential (minimum) Qualifications:
  • Seven (7) years’ experience in a municipal or development industry environment
  • Five (5) years’ experience at the management level
Asset (preferred) Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of general planning principles, City By-laws and Policies, Federal or Provincial Legislation and Professional technical standards and practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills.
  • Full (or Provisional) Member of the Canadian Institute of Planners and the Ontario Professional Planners Institute
