The Manager of Policy Planning is responsible for providing policy planning services for the City of Belleville. The position will entail a wide variety of functions including preparation of official plan policies and zoning by-laws, processing amendment applications thereto, conducting research projects, assisting clients in understanding the City’s planning requirements and requirements for making amendment applications, preparing reports, and attending meetings of the Planning Advisory Committee.
Essential (minimum) Qualifications:
  • University degree in planning, geography or related discipline
  • Membership in or eligibility for membership in the Ontario Professional Planners Institute of Planners
Essential (minimum) Qualifications:
  • Seven (7) years’ experience in policy planning in a Municipal environment
Asset (preferred) Qualifications:
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to manage staff.
  • Effective verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Experience with research and policy formulation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Valid Class G Driver’s License
