Maintenance Mechanic/ Electrician
The Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury is looking for a highly motivated individual to make a significant contribution to the Town’s Wastewater Collection System which includes an expanded state of the art Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Reporting to the Wastewater Treatment Plant Supervisor this position is responsible for the preventative maintenance program, maintaining electrical and mechanical equipment in the operation of the Wastewater Treatment Plant, Wastewater pumping stations at various locations within Bradford West Gwillimbury. In incumbent repairs/replaces mechanical components on demand in the facilities to keep them in good and safe operating condition such as maintaining and servicing stand-by diesel generators at several locations, provide electrical hook ups and adjusts/calibrates Miltronics instrument settings. In addition, the individual will be responsible for maintaining the safe operation of mechanical components in the facilities in accordance with manufacturer requirements, Town policies and procedures and health and safety legislation.
Candidates will have completed an Electrical Engineering Technician program or similar training and be a licenced electrician through the College of Trades. Preference is given to candidates with previous experience in an industrial setting including facility maintenance (electrical). Possession of an MOE OIT license or above for wastewater treatment and wastewater collection is considered an asset. Must have knowledge of electrical and gas fired HVAC equipment and the ability to perform maintenance on this equipment as required, experience in gas and electrical welding (shielded metal arc and metal inert gas). In addition, the candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively, professionally and courteously with all levels of staff, developers, contractors and the general public. Knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems would be an asset. The successful candidate must possess a valid class “G” driver’s licence in good standing.
The Town offers an attractive hourly wage rate of $28.25 to $35.31 (2017 rates) plus a competitive benefit package, and an opportunity to grow with us.
