Water Supervisor
The Town of BWG is looking for a highly motivated and organized professional to join the Water Division and coordinate the day-to-day operation of the water distribution and supply system.
Reporting to the Water Manager, this position coordinates and directs the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the water distribution and supply system. The individual is responsible for day to day supervision of the water operators and maintenance staff, assigning daily work activities to operators and monitoring assigned tasks to ensure work quality and flow are maintained. Responsible for maintenance and inspections of storage tanks, reservoirs, well pump houses and assisting in any corrective action. Performs Acting Manager duties when Manager is unavailable, making crucial decisions in the manager’s absence and acts as ORO as designated by the manager of the water division.
The successful candidate will hold an MOE Water Operator class III license in Water Distribution and Supply and possess an Environmental Technology diploma. A license in Water Treatment would be considered an asset. Preferred candidates will have five years related experience as operator at this type of facility with four to six years as an operator in charge of a class III or class IV facility. The individual will have solid technical skills including adequate working knowledge of industrial, electrical and mechanical equipment. and the ability to train operators along with the ability to communicate effectively, professionally and courteously with all levels of staff, elected officials, developers, contractors and the general public. Knowledge of computers, SCADA equipment and computerized maintenance management systems would be an asset. The successful candidate must possess a valid class “G” driver’s license in good standing with reliable transportation and will be required to complete a criminal reference check as a pre-condition of employment.
The position offers a salary range of $71,144 to $88,930 (2018 rates) based on a 40 hour work week plus a competitive benefit package.
