Reporting to the General Manager of the Public Works Commission, this position will develop and lead a project team responsible for working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the design, construction and completion of the Downtown Infrastructure Renewal and Revitalization Program. This program is a major urban renewal project for the City of Brantford and will require significant engagement with a variety of stakeholders. The 2018-2027 Capital Budget identifies $84.5 million in projects associated with the Downtown Infrastructure Revitalization and Renewal Program, which includes a variety of full corridor reconstruction, bridge improvements and other infrastructure projects. These complex engineering projects will take a number of years to complete and will result in the transformation of the City of Brantford’s downtown streetscape.
 
 
QUALIFICATIONS
 
  • An equivalent combination of education and work-related experience at a senior level in project management dealing with large high profile projects. Preference will be given to those with Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering Planning/Urban Geography degree.
  • PMP designation is an asset.
  • Extensive experience in people leadership, to include experience at the senior management level.
  • Knowledge of all government levels and intergovernmental relationships, structures and issues, as well as knowledge of the needs and interests of stakeholders, governments and the community.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge working on major municipal infrastructure and/or urban renewal projects, including knowledge of municipal engineering, provincial plans, policies and regulations affecting transit and healthy neighbourhood design.
  • Knowledge of principles related to servicing, traffic and transportation, land use social equity and population health is required
  • Highly effective and strategic leadership capabilities and the ability to articulate a vision and to lead and inspire others.
  • Superior organizational, facilitation, consultative, presentation and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated success in collaborating with large institutions and the community to implement projects.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with experience in media communications and the ability to foster agreeable media relations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, tact and diplomacy, and the ability to interact with a broad sector of people to lead a complex collaborative project.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire trust and confidence with a high level of personal integrity and sound judgment.
 
SALARY RANGE: $102,615.00 to $128,269.00 per hour (35 hour a week) plus benefits
