Coordinator, Finance (Permanent)

Reporting to the Manager, Finance, the Coordinator, Finance is required to coordinate and manage accounts receivable, administer and reconcile developer accounts, and reconcile and track specific general ledger accounts. The position is responsible to prepare and assist department management with year end and budget, prepare and process general journal entries, process timesheets and verify timesheet data, and provide back-up to the Coordinator, Payroll as required. Main duties and responsibilities include analysis and reconciliation, accounting and recording transactions, payroll assistance, administrative duties, report preparation and tax and cash receipting.
 
Qualifications include a Diploma in Business or a related discipline together with two (2) years experience in municipal accounting and general accounting practices; one (1) year experience in payroll functions and year-end requirements is preferred. Preferred candidates will have completed the Municipal Administration Program, Municipal Tax Administration Program or the Canadian Payroll Association Practitioner program. Thorough working knowledge of general accounting principles and municipal accounting cycles is required.
 
Normal hours of work are thirty-five (35) hours per week, usually Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; flexibility in scheduling is necessary as there is the occasional requirement to attend functions outside of normal work hours or work overtime as needed. The salary range for this position is $51,870 to $53,026 per year.
