The City of Cornwall is a progressive community of 47,000 people situated on the banks of the St. Lawrence River in Eastern Ontario.  Cornwall boasts a modern economy led by forward thinkers and offers an extensive array of urban amenities, making it an excellent place for a career and raising a family.
The City seeks a progressive leader to serve as the General Manager, Shared Services, which includes being the Chief of the Regional Cornwall & SDG Paramedic service.  The candidate will be a champion for the development and implementation of the long term strategy of the Corporation.
Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer you will be responsible for the overall leadership of the City’s Shared Services, and be supported by an energetic team that oversees responsibility for Paramedic Services, Social Services, and the Glen Stor Don Lodge long term care facility.
As an ideal candidate, you will bring proven abilities in progressive leadership, inclusive decision making, transparent communication, developing positive relationships and achieving organizational results within a dynamic service organization.  Equally important will be your ability to work collaboratively with elected officials, boards, committees and public engagement processes. Rounding out your background will be strong experience in developing strong teams and successfully managing in an environment of multiple priorities.
Personally you will be a role model for the City of Cornwall values of leadership, integrity, collaboration, inclusiveness, and diversity.  Your ten (10) years of progressive leadership experience, preferably within a municipal or provincial government environment, is also coupled with a relevant post-secondary education in public administration, business administration, or pre-hospital emergency care.  With Cornwall’s rich history in both official languages, bilingualism will also be considered beneficial.
The City of Cornwall offers a competitive compensation and benefits package.
