This is a permanent full time position working 35 hours per week.

 
Purpose:
Reporting to the Manager of Planning & Integration, this position manages a portfolio of IT projects that support customer access interfaces, staff, consultants, contractors and vendors and supervises a team of business analysts.
 
Preferred Background:
The successful candidate must possess a degree in Business Administration, Information Technology or a related discipline with at least ten (10) years of project management experience preferably in the public sector. At least five (5) years of SAP project experience with a PMP designation and experience in Project Portfolio Management is an asset. Knowledge of the latest developments and leading practices in the project management industry and profession, (e.g. PMBOK®) and familiarity with best practices is required. Highly developed oral and written communication skills and excellent customer service skills are required, along with a strong sense of political acuity, interpersonal, analytical and organizational skills. The incumbent must have experience with IT project business requirements documentation, systems functional analysis, user testing, and project work plan preparation. Experience managing complex Content Management System (CMS) projects along with working knowledge of CMS related products and browser-based collaboration and document management platforms such as Microsoft SharePoint are required. Experience in a municipal or other government setting and/or supervisory experience and experience with business analysis tools is an asset. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

 
Duties:
  • Manage internal resources in strict adherence to the standards for large scale and high complexity SAP implementation and integration projects.
  • Prepare realistic SAP project cost budgets, timeframe estimates and milestones in conjunction with detailed client project plans.
  • Monitor project performance, progress and risk status.
  • RFP development.
  • Work with multi-discipline teams including contractor management for project implementations.
  • Communicate with project stakeholders to manage expectations on project deliverables.
  • Ensure all accomplished project deliverables have been accepted.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
