    This is a permanent full-time position working 40 hours per week.
 
Purpose:
Reporting to the Director, Purchasing Services & Stores, this position will oversee Regional Stores operations in order to ensure the delivery of quality service.
 
Preferred Background: 
The successful candidate will possess a degree in business or related discipline with Purchasing Management Association Certification (PMAC) and/or APICS Certification in Production and Inventory Management and three to five years related experience in purchasing and supply chain management. Supervisory experience is also required. Familiarity with the Occupational Health & Safety Act, Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change (MOECC) and Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) guidelines and regulations in order to support compliance-related inventory are required. The incumbent must have demonstrated experience with budget and material management and inventory control procedures. Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving and time management skills are required. Strong relationship building, collaboration and leadership skills are also required for success in this position. Proficiency with MS Office, with advanced Excel skills, and SAP is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
 
Working Conditions:
The successful candidate will be made an offer of employment on condition that the Regional Municipality of Halton receives a current (obtained within the past six (6) months), original and acceptable Criminal Records Check, by the first day of employment. Travel is required and incumbent must provide their own transportation. The incumbent will be required to provide a copy of their driver’s license by their first day of employment.
 
Duties:
  • Supervise a team of stock-keepers and inventory control professionals.
  • Plan, develop and implement procedures for best practice inventory management control systems and support staff in following best practices while ensuring segregation of duties.
  • Develop, implement, and review short and long-term stores and inventory strategies that meet budgetary requirements and the client departments’ needs.
  • Support compliance through sourcing and procuring goods and services and ensure proper stock levels are maintained.
  • Ensure that all related work practices and procedures comply with the policies and procedures, Bylaws, guidelines.
  • Provide detailed and reconciled monthly reports accounting for the utilization and cost distribution of labour, parts, services and materials.
  • Monitor key performance indicators.
  • Ensure SAP inventory levels are accurate.
  • Rotate stock and arrange for disposal of surplus.
  • Review daily inventory activity, maintain accurate master files for inventory control.
  • Maintain/enhance SAP functionality related to inventory management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
