    This is a permanent full time position working 35 hours per week.
 
Preferred Background: 

The successful candidate must possess a degree or diploma in Accounting/Business along with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in a similar role with a strong analytical background. Must be an independent and productive team player with strong customer service skills, advanced Excel and analytical skills. Candidate must have excellent verbal and written skills.  Preference will be given to applicants who possess or are working towards a professional accounting designation. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

 
Duties:
  • Ensures completeness and accuracy of monthly revenues received from third party billing companies who provide water and wastewater billing services under a contract with Halton Region.
  • Provides customer service by detecting and resolving water billing issues.
  • Produces various reports and analysis of large datasets using advanced Excel.
  • Monitors Water Billing Database (WDB) for accuracy and completeness of the billing activities and revenues.
  • Performs meter inventory reconciliations between the WDB and Public Works maintenance management system (Hansen).
  • Recommends and implements policy changes and/or new policies.
  • Collaborates with Meter Maintenance and the billing companies to resolve meter reading and billing issues.
  • Assists with design, testing and analysis of WDB and Hansen reports.
  • Completes financial analysis for special projects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
