Excellent organizational skills and a commitment to efficient customer service will be the keys to your success as a Building Division Coordinator in this multi-stakeholder environment at the City of Hamilton.
Reporting to the Director, Building Division, you will assume lead accountability and responsibility for coordinating responses to complaints and inquiries received by the Building Division, related to plan examination, inspection and enforcement activities of the Division, prioritizing those received via the Councillors’ office or as assigned by the Director. Your municipal experience will also have prepared you to oversee special projects and assignments in support of Building Division initiatives.
Your qualifications for the role of Coordinator, Building Division, include:
  • Proven demonstrated knowledge related to investigating complaints and coordinating responses, normally acquired through a university degree or community college diploma in a relevant field of study, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience directly related to municipal government operations.
  • Demonstrated experience working with municipal bylaws, provincial legislation, and building construction issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide effective and efficient customer service.
  • Strong organizational, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in a computerized Window-based environment, with a working knowledge of MS Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Working knowledge of the AMANDA software application, an asset.
  • A valid Class “G” driver’s licence with access to a reliable vehicle for use on the job.
This permanent, full-time position offers a salary range of $76,454 to $89,416 per annum.
