DHR POSTING
 
The Town of Hawkesbury is presently seeking a Director of Human Resources (DHR) to join its team and contribute to the Town’s development with his1 expertise and leadership. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Director of Human Resources (DHR) manages the human resources department, the staff dedicated to these activities and acts as a consultant for managers.  The DHR is responsible for staffing and recruitment, for management of the group insurance file, for work relations management, for induction and employee orientation and for developing new programs related to human resources.  He participates in the negotiations of the collective agreements and prepares employer proposals. He makes sure that the rules and business policies are in accordance with the applicable laws.  He is responsible for his department’s budgets and provides annual forecasts.
 
More specifically the DHR:
Manages the human resources department’s personnel (approximately 10% of the time)
Ensures budgetary and compensation management (approximately 25% of the time)
Assumes responsibility for labour relations (approximately 25% of the time)
Ensures policy management – programs and administration (approximately 20% of the time)
Manages health and safety matters (approximately 10% of the time)
Assumes responsibility for recruitment and departures (approximately 10% of the time)

Expertise - You have:

An undergraduate university degree in human resources or in any other field relevant to the position.

A minimum of five years experience in a similar position.
-
Excellent oral and written skills in French and English.
-
An excellent knowledge of MS Office.
-
A certified membership with an Occupational Health and Safety Committee.
-
Extensive knowledge of WSIB and OMERS.
-
Knowledge of the legislation and standards which deal with human resources in a municipal sector.
