Director of Recreational Services
Reporting to the Clerk-Administrator, the Director of Recreational Services manages the Recreation Department and is responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of recreational/cultural programs, services, and operations; provides advice and technical guidance regarding infrastructure and operational requirements; assists with the development and update of the long-term asset management plan; prepares and monitors the department’s annual budget; and ensures compliance with the policies and plans as well as various legislation
Required education and work experience:
  • University Degree or College Diploma in Recreation/Leisure; Business Administration; or other related program.
  • Minimum three years of experience in a senior management role. 
  • ​Minimum five years of management experience in the operation of a multi-use facility (arena, pool, community halls, playgrounds, and sports field) and in community and recreation programming.
  • Ontario Recreation Facilities Association (ORFA) Certified Recreation Facilities Professional (CRFP) or other related certification will be considered an asset.
  • Experience working in a municipal and/or unionized environment will be considered an asset.
  • Experience in preparing and managing budgets; preparing information and recommendation reports; and researching funding opportunities and completing grant applications.
