The City of Kenora is now seeking an experienced Municipal Design/Field Engineer to join its team and play a key role in the building of an increasingly sustainable community, with an enhanced quality of life, consistent with the vision and core strategies of the City’s Strategic Plan. Reporting to the Municipal Engineer, the Design/Field Engineer will execute activities associated with design, tendering, construction, supervision and administration of capital and operations and infrastructure projects.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and be registered as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario. A minimum of 5 years’ experience as an engineer in a municipal environment as well as two years of supervisory experience are essential. The ideal candidate will also have a thorough knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices and methods, in particular as they apply to sanitary sewers, water mains, storm sewers and other related municipal infrastructure within a municipal setting. Candidates should also have technological proficiency in Total Station and GPS Surveying, as well as Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Civil 3D and ESRI GIS Software. A valid Class “G” driver’s license and knowledge of the OHSA are also essential.
