Engineering Coordinator – Capital Projects
Full Time Permanent
35 Hours Per Week

Reporting to the Manager of Capital Projects, this position is involved in all aspects of the identification, initiation, design, review, tendering and construction of municipal infrastructure related to capital works projects, from commencement of project/proposal to final completion. This would include construction contract administration, supervision, and field inspections. The position also cross-trains and provides support to other branches of the Department.
  • Three (3) year College Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, or Bachelor of Engineering.
  • Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) with Ontario Association of Technicians and Technologists (OACETT), or Engineering in Training (EIT).
  • Three to five years of experience in a relevant and related position.
  • Valid Driver’s Licence and reliable transportation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Review and analysis of Master Servicing Plans, Municipal Class Environmental Assessments (EA), and supporting technical reports, and ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.
  • Prepare, administer, and review Request for Proposals and selection of consultants.
  • Review and provide comments for infrastructure designs for roads, storm water management, water, and wastewater projects.
  • Preparing and administer construction Tender contracts and drawings, and selection of contractors.
  • Administer and approve utility Municipal Consent applications.
  • Prepare reports to senior staff and Council.
  • Familiar with applicable Provincial Acts and Regulations, Engineering Design manuals and guidelines, and Municipal by-laws.
  • Capable of interpreting complex documents, construction drawings, and technical reports.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills to author memos, reports, letters, provide comments, and to communicate with the public, staff, contractors, and Council.
  • Knowledgeable in computer softwares and techniques applicable to project management, engineering design, coordination and administration.
Salary Range: $62,973.82 - $78,605.80
