City of Niagara Falls is seeking a new Director of Municipal Works who would be responsible for leading the activities of the City’s Municipal Works department and making sure that they are carried out in an effective and efficient manner.
 
Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Director of Municipal Works is a key pillar for the senior management team at the City of Niagara Falls.
 
The Director of Municipal Works is a key leader that has strategic and operations responsibility for the Engineering Services branch. He/She is in charge of the management of the Operations, Engineering, Asset Management, Project Managers and Architects. He/She possesses a rare combination of political acumen, consensus-based leadership and strong communication and conflict resolution skills that positions him/her as a key liaison between the Council, City Manager and the other members of the Senior Management Team internally and the Business Owners, Real Estate Industry, Institutional Stakeholders and other levels of government externally.
 
Having completed your university education, preferably in Civil or Municipal Engineering or a Technology Diploma, ideally, you will also have a professional Engineering designation from the Province of Ontario. You have a minimum of 10 years of relevant professional work experience (preferably at the municipal level) with at least 5-10 years in a Senior Management level. You possess a rare combination of political, consensus-based leadership and conflict resolution skills that positions you as a key liaison between the Council, Chief Administrative Officer and the rest of the senior management team internally and the Business Owners, Real Estate Industry, Institutional Stakeholders and other levels of government externally.
