Financial Services Advisor
 
Financial Planning and Reporting – Financial Services Department
 
The Corporation of Norfolk County is looking for a highly motivated, energetic person who will be responsible for assisting in developing, overseeing, directing and coordinating the preparation and consolidation of Norfolk County’s operating and capital budgets ensuring reporting requirements of Council and County Departments/Divisions are met.  Reporting to the Supervisor, Financial Planning and Reporting you will provide a high level of financial/accounting and technical assistance to County Departments/Divisions including extensive user training related to budget, financial and business processes.
 
Your Qualifications as Financial Services Advisor will include:
 
  • Three or Four year Degree in business administration, accounting, commerce, or related discipline.
  • A professional accounting designation from the Chartered Professional Accountants Association (CPA-CGA-CMA, CPA-CA) or enrollment in the program to achieve a designation within 3 years.
  • Minimum of 2 years up to 3 years of progressive accounting and financial analysis experience including co-op experience. Experience to include financial planning, financial analysis, business processes, financial reporting, accounting, Capital Asset Accounting, developing and documenting new business processes and finance/accounting related policy and procedure development.
  • Experience within an Ontario municipal environment is preferred.
 
This full-time permanent position offers a pay range of $26.10 – 32.64 per hour. The normal hours of work are Monday through Friday (35 hours per week) however some non-standard hours may be required.
