Manager, Asset Management Planning
North Bay is a vibrant city, servicing a regional catchment area of 112,000 people, nestled between Lake Nipissing and Trout Lake. This growing, progressive city of 51,000 residents is conveniently located just three and a half hours from Toronto and Ottawa.
The City of North Bay is seeking applications for the position of Manager, Asset Management Planning. Reporting to the Managing Director, Engineering, Environmental Services & Works, the Manager will lead the development and implementation of the City’s Asset Management Plan. The Manager works closely with City Departments to deliver projects focused on improving the management of the City’s infrastructure and service level requirements. The Manager will also facilitate the establishment and continuous improvement of the City’s asset management and decision-making processes.
The successful candidate will use their project management skills to establish and implement the Asset Management Plan meeting both internal and legislated requirements, improved stewardship, accountability, enhanced risk management and financial responsibilities.  They will provide strategic direction and develop/establish/implement standard processes for collecting, updating, maintaining and managing the asset infrastructure information, condition inspection and mapping.
We are looking for demonstrated knowledge in leading asset management concepts and processes with the ability to think creatively, work independently and deliver high-quality work. The ideal candidate will offer a strong combination of education and knowledge possessing a University Degree in a field of study related to asset management or equivalent combined with 3 to 5 years of experience in a leadership position related to project management. The Manager will have demonstrated strong conceptual, analytical, financial, asset management, leadership and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to effectively communicate and interact with a variety of stakeholders. Candidates will also possess effective oral and written communication, presentation, strategic thinking, report writing, and research skills. Demonstrated knowledge of municipal business and regulatory processes along with proven success in implementing complex change projects will be considered assets.
