The Grey Bruce Health Unit is currently accepting applications for a challenging and rewarding career opportunity as Director of Corporate Services.
 
Bordered by Lake Huron, Georgian Bay and the Niagara Escarpment, the Grey Bruce Health Unit serves a population of 160,000 individuals in an area of 8,587km2. The diverse populations and rural regions in the Grey and Bruce communities offer a unique and dynamic landscape in which to live, work, and play.
 
Reporting directly to the Medical Officer of Health, you will be a key member of the senior management team at the public health unit, while also providing community leadership in public health. You will play a critical role in collaborating with the senior management team in setting the strategic direction for the organization, formulating and implementing policy, leading the development of the annual operational plan and budget and decision-making and operations as the health unit continues to enhance its programming and build capacity.
 
We are looking for a strategic thinker with inclusive leadership skills and a strong Human Resources background to join our team and lead the Corporate Services Division. Responsibilities include the Health Unit’s financial, human, information technology, volunteer, and physical resources as well as quality improvement and organizational standards in accordance with the organization’s vision, mission and strategic plan. As a valued member of the senior executive team, the Director reports directly to the Medical Officer of Health/Chief Executive Officer. Your superior communication skills are essential in creating and maintaining excellent relationships both internal and external to the Health Unit.
 
As a successful applicant, you will have six or more years of experience in public or private sector management and administration, progressive supervisory responsibility, a bachelor’s degree in business administration or commerce or equivalent, and a postgraduate degree in a related field. Experience in the health sector would be an asset. If your creative problem solving, positive thinking, and interpersonal skills inspire staff to excel in what they do, we would like to talk with you.

Working Conditions
 
  • Required to work in a general office setting
  • Working hours may vary within a 35-hour paid work week; evening and weekend work may be required
