The Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) is an independent, not-for-profit corporation funded by all Ontario municipalities. Our role is to accurately assess and classify all properties in Ontario, and with more than 1,700 employees in offices across the province, our assessors are trained experts in the field of property valuation.
 
MPAC is looking to hire a full time permanent Legislation and Policy Analyst. In this role, you will provide legislation and policy support to senior management, head office and field office staff and to other Provincial Government Ministries, municipal clients and the public.
 
You will play an important role in supporting the development of government legislation on proposed legislative changes and regulatory provisions necessary to implement property assessment and tax reform, and ongoing government initiatives;

Qualifications include:
  • Completion of relevant post-secondary education in property assessment, law, political science, economics, public policy administration or related field;
  • Minimum 5 years progressive in-depth knowledge and experience with policies and procedures, legislation, and precedent-setting court and tribunal decisions, preferably in the property assessment and taxation field;
  • Accreditation with Institute of Municipal Assessors and/or Appraisal Institute of Canada is considered an asset;
