Responsible to: Finance Manager
The Procurement and Payables Administrator is responsible for receiving, reviewing, processing and paying all invoices that are incurred by the Municipality for both daily operations and projects, ensuring they are properly authorized prior to payment; assisting the Finance Manager with the purchasing/procurement and tendering process; providing back up support for the Payroll & Benefits Administrator for all aspects of payroll including bi-weekly payroll, supporting users of the online time entry system, processing benefits, WSIB and OMERS.
  • High school diploma or equivalent plus specialized College courses in Accounting, Payroll or Purchasing.
  • Ontario Public Purchasing certificate required or willingness to attain; (i.e. Ontario Public Buyers Association).
  • Entry Level Payroll would be an asset (i.e. Canadian Payroll Association).
  • One (1) to two (2) years related experience working in Accounting and/or Purchasing is required.
  • Experience in the tendering process and or Municipal service would be an asset.

Hours:   Full-time position; Thirty–five (35) hours per week
Compensation:           $45,554 – $55,400 per annum
     Eligible for enrolment in the group Health, Dental and Life Insurance benefit plan 
     after three months.  Eligible for enrolment in the OMERS Pension Plan upon hire.
