Position Summary
Reporting to the General Manager of Health & Emergency Services, this position is responsible for the development, implementation and administration of the County’s 911 and emergency management programs.   This position includes consultation with the area municipalities’ and partner organizations to identify 911 and emergency preparedness goals and objectives consistent with the County’s 911 and emergency management programs, and for the administration of all aspects of the 911 and Emergency Management Programs including strategic planning, and developing and implementing quality assurance measures, policies and standards.
Position Requirements
Diploma or degree in Emergency Management or Health Affiliated discipline, and/or the equivalent in a related field of study.
A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in municipal 911 administration, emergency planning and/or related field of work, including two (2) years management experience in emergency services or similar position.
Experience and training in media relations and public speaking an asset.
Demonstrated experience in development of plans and exercises.
Emergency Management Ontario (EMO) Certification as a Community Emergency Management Coordinator preferred.
Emergency Number Professional (ENP) Certification preferred.
Strong knowledge of the Emergency Management Act and other applicable legislation, health care principals, policies and programs.
Strong understanding of policies and related legislation or initiatives and their significance and potential impact.
Strong understanding of 911 service delivery, management and issue resolution.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Excellent planning and organizational skills.
Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills.
Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet computer software applications.
$97,722.00 - $117,269.00 per annum
