As a member of the Senior Management Team reporting to the CAO-Clerk, the Public Works Manager is responsible for the planning, maintenance and operation of the Municipality’s public works systems including roads and bridges, sanitary sewer and drinking water, storm sewer, and waste management. Southwest Middlesex is composed of serviced small urban areas linked by a highly productive agricultural area.
The successful candidate will have appropriate post-secondary education in a related field, and at least five years’ experience guiding public works operations. He/she will provide advice to Council through written reports and be a key member of the Municipality’s asset management team.
Project planning and management will be a key skill for the Manager, as will be providing guidance and oversight to operations staff, contractors, and consultants. An accomplished verbal communicator, the Manager must have a commitment to excellent customer service.
