Financial Analyst - Revenue
 
The Corporation of the Town of Tecumseh is currently recruiting for a highly motivated individual to fill the position of Financial Analyst - Revenue.
 
Job Summary
Reporting to the Deputy Treasurer & Tax Collector, the Financial Analyst - Revenue is responsible for assisting with the co-ordination, supervision and general operation of the municipal revenue function, which includes the collection, balancing, recording and posting of tax revenues, water and wastewater charges, recreation charges and miscellaneous revenue functions.  The Financial Analyst - Revenue will also assist in the development and maintenance of corporate policies related to revenue and taxation, development and maintenance of the revenue portion of the annual operating, capital and reserve budgets, and presentations to Council.
 
Qualifications and Requirements

The successful candidate will have a University Degree in Business Administration (Accounting) or related field combined with three (3) years of experience in a municipal finance related field, or a College Diploma in Business-Accounting combined with four (4) years of experience in a municipal field.  Candidates will have a professional designation in accounting (i.e. CPA, CA, CGA, CMA) or MBA along with a designation as a Certified Credit Professional (CPP) and/or Certified Municipal Tax Professional (CMTP) would be considered an asset.  The preferred candidate will have an understanding and experience in a municipal tax environment, including municipal finance, assessment and property legislation, tax policy, computerized/financial systems by-laws, e-billings, customer services, collection techniques, contractual law and litigation option.    

 

The ideal candidate will have advanced computer and technical skills including experience with financial system software and knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.  Candidates must be proficient in developing and using financial models and spreadsheets; ability to analyze and interpret financial/statistical information and identify and resolve financial problems.  In addition, the ideal candidate will have exceptional organizational skills; work independently and will have excellent oral and written communication skills.  Previous experience with Vadim iCity Enterprise financial software, RAC Software Inc., FMW Web and Public Sector Digest CityWide software is considered an asset.

Salary
The Town offers a starting hourly rate of $43.18 (2019), in accordance with the Collective Agreement with CUPE Local 702.2. This position is subject to a probationary period of sixty (60) days of work.
