Environmental Services Technical Administrative Assistant – Permanent, Full Time
 
The Municipality of West Perth is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Environmental Services Technical Administrative Assistant. Located in Southwestern Ontario, West Perth is a thriving, caring community that offers diverse opportunities to live, work, and play. With a population of 9,000, the community features a strong agriculture sector with significant contributions from other sectors including manufacturing and services. West Perth provides great opportunities for rural living with a number of vibrant hamlets and villages distributed throughout the municipality and the fully serviced community of Mitchell located at the intersection of Provincial Highways 8 and 23.         
 
Reporting to the Environmental Services Coordinator, the Technical Administrative Assistant is responsible to provide assistance in the oversight and monitoring of the Municipality’s water, wastewater, landfill and solid waste/recycling operations. Knowledge of regulatory legislation governing the Municipality’s water, wastewater and landfill operations is a requirement. The position also involves administering and updating operational manuals, policy and procedures, operational records, operator training records, work order databases and reports for the Environmental Services department. The ideal candidate will have:
  • Knowledge of Regulatory Legislation governing the Municipality’s water, wastewater and landfill operations.
  • Background in environmental studies/sciences, or a related field with a minimum of two years of progressive experience in local government or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and ability to work in a confidential environment with high attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, administrative, analytical, problem-solving, organizational and time management and computer skills.
