Reporting to and under the direction of the Commissioner of Corporate Services, the Clerk is responsible for the co-ordination of rentals and repair of municipal properties including preliminary lease negotiations and addressing tenant concerns. Primary duties include, but are not limited to:
 
  • providing administrative, customer service and secretarial support to Treasury/Purchasing and Revenue Services Divisions;
  • assisting with the annual budget process;
  • providing support function including processing mail, maintenance of property database, title searches and registrations; and,
  • preparing tax certificates and related verification and correspondence processing; and,
  • other related duties as may be assigned.

 

As the successful applicant, you will possess:

 

  • a Diploma in business or office administration, finance, purchasing or related discipline;
  • a  minimum of two (2) years related experience, preferably in a municipal environment;
  • willingness to work towards a certificate in municipal administration/association of municipal clerks and treasurers courses in public administration would be considered an asset;
  • an intermediate level of knowledge in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), financial and purchasing software;
  • well-developed research and administrative skills;
  • strong reasoning, numerical and analytical skills;
  • must be able to communicate orally and in written form in a clear and concise manner;
  • well‑developed interpersonal and public relations skills;
  • the ability to work independently and as a member of a team; and,
  • a valid Class “G” Driver’s Licence, maintained in good standing, with access to a personal vehicle.
 
Salary: $45,081 - $56,347 per annum
 
Hours: Monday to Friday - 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
