The Corporation of the Town of Petawawa invites applications for the position of DEPUTY CLERK The Town of Petawawa is currently seeking an experienced professional to fulfill the role of Deputy Clerk and to assume the related statutory duties of the other related legislation. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer/Clerk the Deputy Clerk will provide administrative support to the Chief Administrative Officer/Clerk and Council in the management of the Town. The Deputy Clerk is responsible for the provision of Council and Committee secretarial services including preparation of resolutions, by-laws and agendas. The Deputy Clerk also provides assistance and back up support to the Clerk functions; assists in the municipal election process; administers records management for the Town and co-ordinates processing of requests under the
Municipal Act and Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act; Deputy Registrar for Vital Statistics and oversees licensing functions.
Applicants must possess at a minimum an office administration, legal or business community college diploma or equivalent combination of education and practical experience with a thorough working knowledge of municipal functions and responsibilities; applicable provincial legislation and regulations; Council secretariat functions; and election requirements and processes. A minimum of three years of relevant administrative and secretarial experience at a senior level, with a professional designation, assumes role of of AMCT or CMO is a definite asset. A valid drivers licence is required.

The current salary range for this position is $28.06 to $33.01 hour for a 35 hour work week. There is a requirement to work beyond regular office hours to attend Council and Council in Committee and other Committee meetings. The Town offers an excellent benefits package.
