Project Coordinator – Maintenance

RESPONSIBILITIES:  Perform supervisory duties in a strategic team environment, including but not limited to capital/building renewal project work, inspecting Board owned buildings for repairs or replacements (such as mechanical/electrical systems, roofs, fencing or landscaping), ensuring grounds and buildings are maintained in a safe condition. Provide supervision of maintenance staff including training, evaluation, scheduling and inspection. Provide written reports and correspondence to the supervisor as required. Estimate work to be completed and prepare specifications for tenders. Provide budget input. Supervise workers and work sites to ensure proper working practices and specifications are being followed.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:  The successful candidate will possess at minimum a two year college diploma in a related field or equivalent knowledge in areas of maintenance of building systems, landscaping, roofing and playground responsibility; have excellent organizational and supervisory skills; over six years and up to eight years of progressively responsible related experience to be familiar with a variety of job duties and responsibilities including prioritizing workload, building maintenance, supervising staff, etc.; demonstrated ability to problem-solve when handling situations that are difficult; demonstrated use of creative and effective communication skills required; excellent communication skills both verbal and written; demonstrated ability to apply time management; and strong computer skills are essential.     
 
VEHICLE:  A valid driving license and access to a motor vehicle for travelling to various schools within the Board’s jurisdiction are requirements of the position.
