SENIOR MANAGER OF INFORMATION AND TECHNOLOGY

RESPONSIBILTIES: The Manager of Information and Technology Services will be responsible for planning and coordination of Information and Technology Services (ITS) to ensure alignment with the Board Strategic Plan, the Board Improvement Plan for Student Achievement, and business operations strategic plans. This role will provide leadership to and management of department employees, including all aspects of ITS operations. The role will be responsible for the coordination of projects, setting of priorities, preparation and management of the department’s budget; defining, developing and implementing ITS infrastructures, strategies and initiatives that support all aspects of the board’s business and educational operational needs including external partners; and identifying opportunities to enhance system process efficiencies through effective application/data integrations and enhanced online/cloud services. In particular, this position will support the goal of creating, managing, and using information and data to make better decisions and to drive efficient processes through the implementation of integrated software systems, implementation of a comprehensive document management system, digital transformation, and the formalizing of records management and process development.
 
QUALIFICATIONS: A university degree in Computer Science or other related area, combined with a least ten years of direct progressively responsible work experience in leading, managing and motivating a IT team in an open, innovative, responsible and professional environment; excellent negotiation, collaboration and problem-solving skills; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; experience managing unionized staff in a school-board environment; demonstrated analytical, critical thinking, decision-making and issue resolution skills; excellent budget management skills required. The ideal candidate will bring extensive formal project management experience, including PMP designation, as well familiarity with student information systems, classroom and remote learning environments, learning management systems, and a desire to provide excellent service to students and schools.
