Reporting to the Manager of Development Engineering, the Development Engineering Technologist is responsible for the review of servicing designs for subdivisions, site plans, and condominiums. This position is responsible to prepare and administer all Subdivision Agreements including all securities relating to subdivision development, inspections during construction and final inspections for acceptance of all developments. The Technologist also comments on Committee of Adjustment applications including land severances, rezoning and minor variances. The position maintains databases, responds to lawyers requests for compliance letters and responds to enquiries from developers, builders, citizens, community groups, other City Departments, GRCA and other outside agencies.
  • Possess a three (3) year community college diploma as an Engineering Technologist or equivalent education
  • Three (3) to five (5) years' of experience in Engineering Design with emphasis on municipal servicing, storm water management and road design
  • Must have or have the ability to obtain C.E.T. designation
  • Comprehensive understanding and technical knowledge of municipal infrastructure, planning processes and agreement preparation
  • Time Management skills, with the ability to manage multiple and changing demands and priorities are required
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills are essential
  • Work autonomously representing the City during meetings
  • Experience working with computer applications including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, G.I.S. systems
  • Possess a valid Class 'G" driver's license in good standing during the course of employment

SALARY RANGE: $35.45 to $39.69 per hour (35 hours per week) plus benefits
