The Opportunity
Through demonstration of strong administrative skills, organizational skills, and communication, the Supervisor, Community Services Administration will assist the General Manager and Managers of the Community Services Department in day to day activities including research, correspondence, documentation, mail, filing, scheduling of meetings, telephone calls, recording minutes, and assisting with confidential matters.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, Community Services the successful candidate will coordinate and finalize Council Agenda and Reports for the Department in a timely manner. The individual will coordinate with the Town Solicitor and the Ontario Municipal Board for the venue of hearings relating to Caledon Planning matters and provide assistance with the hearing arrangements. The incumbant will also compile background documentation for the Ontario Municipal Board relating to Official Plan Amendments and Rezoning By-laws and maintain a spreadsheet listing appeals with set hearing dates as directed.
The successful candidate will train and update administrative staff on new procedures and programs. You will be responsible to work and ensure that all staff supervised work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations, the Town of Caledon Policies and Procedures, as well as established industry guidelines.
The Ideal Candidate
We are seeking an organized professional with education, training and/or knowledge normally acquired from a post-secondary diploma in Business Administration or a closely related field. Our ideal candidate has 5 years of Administration experience and a minimum 1-2 years supervising staff is considered an asset. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated customer service excellence that reflects Caledon’s quality standards: accurate, courteous, responsive and easy to navigate. We are seeking an individual with superior verbal and written communication skills, a demonstrated ability to make decisions involving multiple routine tasks and excellent problem-solving skills.
This position offers a salary range of $69,112.77 - $81,731.34 plus a competitive benefit package.
Satisfactory passing of a criminal record check, and proof of qualifications will be required of any successful candidate(s) for this position.
