Job Profile
There is an opening for the above position within Asset Management and Project Management Office Division, Corporate Enterprise Department available immediately. Reporting to the Manager of Asset Management this position will be responsible for:
What you will be doing
  • Maintaining the official record of the asset inventory and related information in the Asset Information Repository and performing quality control and data integrity of information within the system to identify issues with information in the repository or the physical information
  • Preparing annual tenders for formal inspection and condition rating program of infrastructure assets, managing projects and providing project supervision, including preparation of work programs for contractors, progress payments, performing quality control of information provided by contractors and general contract administration
  • Preparing annual preventative maintenance programs for infrastructure assets and identifying repair or maintenance needs based on inspection and condition assessment information and issuing work orders to appropriate staff as required
  • Preparing the business requirements to implement / enhance existing maintenance management system for operational maintenance of various infrastructure such as facilities, playgrounds, parks, municipal fleet, roads, storm, water, wastewater
  • Assisting with identifying opportunities to improve the effectiveness of business procedures through use of features and functionality available within the implemented business applications and office tools. Preparing of business process flow charts. Working with staff to develop, maintain, and exercise alternative paper processes to maintain business continuity in the event of business system failures that would satisfy needs of staff and management
  • In coordination with Technology Services and external vendors, participates in the implementation of new technologies and upgrades of existing technologies that will minimize the disruption of staff and their ability to deliver services.
  • Providing formal and informal training to office and field staff at all levels for the use of the maintenance management system, preparing of training materials for use in training sessions and ongoing reference for staff
  • Performing computer modeling of infrastructure condition and performance to predict remaining serviceable life of assets
  • Preparing a rolling 10 year reconstruction program, based on life-cycle analysis, risk analysis, conformance to current standards, customer complaints, repairs and maintenance records
  • Preparing longer term operating and capital expenditure forecast of infrastructure assets. Identifying of short and long term gaps in available funding
  • Reviewing statistics and prepares ad-hoc statistical analysis, reporting and mapping to support management reports related to service levels, work productivity, asset life-cycle, condition and performance of infrastructure assets, along with metrics, and benchmarks that are provided to the appropriate organizations for publication
  • Working with the staff at external agencies to compare and reconcile conflicts in information related to Cambridge infrastructure assets
  • Attending and participating in presentations at industry workshops and seminars
Three (3) year Undergraduate/Technologist Diploma in Civil Engineering, Building Construction or Computer Science or equivalent
Experience and Knowledge
A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in municipal asset management and/or Parks & Recreation operations and/or Building Facilities operations / management and/or similar municipal environment, and a practical understanding of computerized maintenance management system. Including Completion of formal training on industry standard GIS products at the college level, and possession of a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) certification. Completion of formal asset management training and GIS Training or relevant experience would be preferable.

Your compensation
This position is within Grade 10 of the inside workers union Salary Schedule and has an annual salary range of $74,222 to $78,883. We offer a comprehensive benefit package and are an Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS) employer.
Hours of work
The current regular hours of work are Monday to Friday inclusive, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
