Systems Analyst - CS-IT (Temporary - up to 1 year) - Job ID 11657
Reporting to the Applications Services Supervisor, the incumbent will:
  • Develop, test, implement and upgrade application systems
  • Develop, test and support processes and interfaces from existing to new applications
  • Prepare and maintain documentation, including procedures, system specifications and technical documentation
  • Perform software problem investigation, problem resolution, unit/system integration and testing and documentation
  • Provide technical leadership and establish best practice within a team
  • Analyze business and system requirements and recommend solutions
  • Identify problems and/or gaps between system requirements and deliverables
  • Conduct feasibility studies and design system specifications
  • Draft technical specifications for software
  • Maintain and monitor system and/or resource performance and configurations
  • Work with customers and business experts to refine and develop workflow
  • Identify need for new/upgraded systems
  • Troubleshoot production and development applications, recommend and implement solutions
The successful applicant will possess:
  • A 3-year Bachelor degree in Computer Science, or a related discipline
  • Several years of proven experience with programming languages and operating systems (Windows)
  • Experience with full lifecycle of software development (SDLC) and with tools such as SharePoint Online, Team Foundation Server (TFS), Visual Studio 2015 or higher and Crystal Reports
  • Experience in coaching, directing and/or reviewing the work of others
  • Proven technical competence at an intermediate to senior level in .Net, C#.Net, PL/SQL, ASP.Net, VB Net and JavaScript web development (HTML and CSS)
  • Good understanding of database SQL Language (Oracle/SQLServer)
  • Solid understanding in application development and industry best practices
  • Knowledge of OpenVMS and DCL on Alpha, Cognos (Alpha) PowerHouse, DEC Cobol and NetTerm would be an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • A high degree of initiative, commitment and self-motivation and be detail/results-oriented
  • A commitment to maintaining up-to-date knowledge of technology and IT industry trends
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to translate and communicate complex technical issues
  • The ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • A Class G Driver's Licence and the use of a reliable vehicle
Hourly Salary:  Start: $41.43 - Six Month: $43.42 - Job: $45.70
