Job summary
The successful incumbent will be responsible for delivering the Go to Market activities required to ensure a successful public launch of the new Wilson Street Parkade and other related parking initiatives. The incumbent will support overall project management, policy development and communications coordination while providing input on pricing, usage policies, operating procedures and a launch strategy. Reporting to the Parking Program Manager and guided by the goals and objectives of the City of Guelph Corporate Administrative Plan and committed to the Corporate Values of integrity, excellence and wellness, the candidate will aid in the achievement of the Community Vision – to be the city that makes a difference.
  • Overall accountability for the required Go to Market activities for the Wilson Street Parkade to ensure a successful community launch.
  • Work closely with the Program Manager to develop launch strategies and implementation approach.
  • Responsible to track project activities against the project plan, identify risks and offer solutions.
  • Maintain project library with appropriate version control.
  • Responsible for authoring policies and standard operating procedures for the new facility as well as other parking initiatives with input from impacted groups.
  • Lead policy development through draft, revisions and approval.
  • Provide input on pricing, usage policies and operational approach.
  • Plan to deliver an effective and timely public communication and education effort.
  • Engage with community stakeholders to construct a public launch strategy focused on technology adoption, training, education and feedback mechanisms to build public adoption.
  • Plan and execute a grand opening event for the parkade.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Experience related to the duties listed above, normally acquired through a post-secondary education in Business Administration or Marketing or a related discipline and experience in marketing and event coordination. Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Project management delivering projects on time and on budget.
  • Ability to develop policies and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Proven ability to work effectively with a variety of departments
  • Self-starter and highly organized with the ability to manage conflicting priorities/multiple projects within deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Proactive and able to continuously manage change in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Excellent project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of staff, stakeholders, the media and the general public.
  • Good interpersonal, leadership and team building skills.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
$33.70 - $42.12 per hour
