This is a contract full-time position working 35 hours per week, until June 20, 2022.

Reporting to the Director, Vaccine Management, this role provides operational oversight of COVID-19 vaccination clinics and leads a multi-disciplinary team of public and other health professionals, and administrative staff in managing the COVID Vaccination program. This role manages the planning and operations of the COVID vaccination clinics. Assists in the coordination of supporting roles (HR, IT, Logistics) for the clinics. Provides direct and indirect supervision to staff operating the COVID clinics including Clinic Supervisors, Administrative Coordinators, Immunization Nursing Advisors, etc.
Preferred Background:
The successful candidate will be a member in good standing with a regulatory professional body and Masters degree in nursing, health administration or a health related field is strongly preferred. CQI training is a strong asset. The candidate will also have at minimum six (6) years of experience in a public health environment, experience with immunizations or vaccine preventable diseases, is strongly preferred. This role requires strong knowledge of inventory supply management best practices, clinical and professional standards, including broad knowledge of public health, human services and determinants of health. This role requires demonstrated written and verbal communication skills. Interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, coach, influence and motivate staff along with political acuity are required. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Working Conditions:
Flexibility in working hours is required as COVID vaccination clinics are scheduled 7 days per weeks in varying shifts. Incumbent must supply their own transportation. The successful candidate will be made an offer of employment on condition that the Regional Municipality of Halton receives a current (obtained within the past six (6) months), original and acceptable Criminal Record Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Screen by the first day of employment.
  • Manages the implementation of COVID vaccination clinics.
  • Ensures best practices are adhered to and are in accordance with provincial guidelines.
  • Facilitates communication between groups responsible for oversight and management of the clinics.
  • Oversees IPAC measures at the clinics.
  • Forecasts supplies, vaccine and staffing for operations at the clinics.
  • Manages human resources including within a collective agreement environment and ensures consistent application of the collective agreement and corporate policies for non-union staff.
  • Develops or revises program policies and procedures to align with provincial changes.
  • Collaborates and manages relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including responding to inquiries from public.
  • Rotational on-call responsibilities may be required.
