This is a permanent part time position working 18.75 hours per week.
 
Preferred Background:
The successful candidate must possess a Secondary School Graduation Diploma.  Able to work as part of a team in a fast paced environment. Be mechanically oriented, demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, able to multi-task and deal with diverse clientele in a tactful and efficient manner. Strong attention to detail and the ability to set priorities and manage multiple projects is essential.  The successful candidate must have a valid F class driver’s license or acquire one within six months of hire.  A working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook) is required.  Experience with Paramedic medical equipment/supplies and a forklift operator’s license is an asset.  An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for this busy, demanding position.
 
Working Conditions:
The successful candidate will be made an offer of employment on condition that the Regional Municipality of Halton receives a current (obtained within the past six (6) months), original and acceptable Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector screen, by the first day of employment. The incumbent will be required to provide a copy of their driver’s license and driver’s abstract by their first day of employment. In addition, the incumbent may be required to lift up to 70 pounds and be required to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends to support 24/7 operations.
 
Duties:
  • Complete accurate documentation in a timely manner.
  • Procurement, warehousing, tracking and distribution of medical supplies, equipment, oxygen, linen, uniforms and vehicles.
  • Receives stock and equipment to Stores, Pick station orders, and package supplies.
  • Deliver and pick up equipment and supplies to stations, vendors and hospitals.
  • Liaise with vendors and suppliers for purchases and service requests.
  • Co-ordinate and prepare several on-going orders, reports and statistics.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance to equipment.
  • Perform routine cleaning to equipment, vehicles and stations.
  • Perform minor vehicle and station maintenance and repairs.
  • Obtain quotes, samples, supplies and price lists from various vendors related to uniforms, specialized vehicles and medical equipment and supplies.
  • Mentor co-op students.
  • Perform other duties as required.
