The Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority (CRCA) seeks a highly motivated Engineer, Water Resources to join our team. The CRCA works with local communities to conserve natural resources in southeastern Ontario watersheds. For more information please visit: www.crca.ca.

Hours:
35 hours per week
 
Compensation:
$61,427 - $81,903 (2019 Rate)
 
Key Responsibilities:
  - Forecast flood conditions and issue messages to local communities, coordinate water control structure asset management, maintenance and operations, and coordinate floodplain mapping projects
  - Review development proposals with respect to flooding, erosion and stormwater management
  - Provide technical advice to municipalities, community organizations and the public
 
Qualifications:
  - Certification as a licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario, and a full member in good standing of the Professional Engineers of Ontario
  - University degree in civil engineering or equivalent
  - 3+ years related experience
  - Demonstrated project management experience
  - Advanced knowledge of applicable legislation and relevant departmental policies and procedures
  - Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, problem solving, presentation and organizational skills including the demonstrated ability to describe technical content in clear-language terms when addressing outside agencies and the public which includes the ability to make technical presentations to municipal/provincial officials and write technical reports and policy
  - Proficiency with the full suite of Microsoft Office software, water information systems, and familiarity with geographic information systems (GIS)
  - Proficiency with aerial photographs, maps and stormwater development plans
  - Valid Class G Driver’s License and Working at Heights safety training equivalent required
