Salary Range: $56,961 to $69,237

The Municipality of Meaford is located in the County of Grey on the western shore of beautiful Georgian Bay in Central Ontario. With a rural and urban mix population of approximately 11,000, the Municipality offers abundant recreational and lifestyle opportunities.
 
The Municipality is looking for a Lead Hand for Daily Operations to perform on-site supervision of Municipal work crews performing scheduled maintenance operations and provides guidance and training to staff as required. The Lead Hand will monitor contractor’s activities, perform inspections of work-in-progress. The role will co-ordinate, expedites and perform maintenance, construction, repair and administrative work related to the municipality’s roads, bridges and associated infrastructure.
 
The successful applicant will have courses in T.J. Mahoney Road School and/or CRS designate with a minimum of 5 years’ work experience in construction, roads maintenance and operations and a valid Ontario Class “D” Driver’s Licence and “Z” endorsement in good standing. Experience supervising a team would be an asset and the proven ability to assess road conditions, maintenance needs, read maps, interpret construction drawings, blueprints and plans is required.
