Customer Service Representative
Corporate Services Department
(Full-time position, 35 hours per week)
 
The Town of Orangeville has an opportunity available for the full-time position of Customer Service Representative. Duties of the position include:
 
  • Providing frontline customer service in person, on the telephone and via e-mail
  • Collecting and processing municipal revenues from a variety of sources including but not limited to property taxes, transit funds, parking, garbage tags, building permits and other general revenues
  • Inputting data in various forms, utilizing various systems for multiple departments
  • Balancing, preparing and delivering large bank deposits including reconciliations of electronic payments
  • Processing mail on a daily basis, including opening, date stamping, and distributing to appropriate individuals
  • Other such multi-departmental duties as assigned
 
Qualifications:
 
  • Secondary school education or equivalent with post-secondary courses in Business Administration.
  • One to two years of experience in a customer service role, preferably in a municipal environment
  • Demonstrated experience in handling large volumes of transactions, data entry and providing other administrative type functions
  • Ability to co-ordinate multiple tasks, balance multiple demands and address timelines with frequent interruptions
  • Excellent problem solving, interpersonal and customer service skills to address customer inquiries and difficult situations with tact and diplomacy
  • Computer literacy in a Windows environment utilizing Microsoft Office
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics GP, Diamond software, and Ticket Processor is an asset

 

 

Salary Range: $47,720.40 to $55,855.80, Band 5 on the Town’s 2020 pay grid, plus a comprehensive benefits package
