$94,743 - $118,428 per annum

We are seeking a Manager, IT Security to manage the day-to-day operations of the Security department, leading a team of Security Architects and Analysts. Reporting to the Director, IT Security, you will lead and assist with the implementation of security initiatives. You will also execute IT Security processes, procedures and controls to mitigate security risks while ensuring MPAC’s current security posture is maintained and enhanced.
  • Oversee and manage daily operations of the department, including directing the work and activities to ensure business objectives and security requirement are met;
  • With the Director, plan each sprint and manage the workload/workflow to ensure work and projects/initiatives are completed within the required timelines and budget requirements;
  • Use the Agile methodology for projects from inception to completion, including estimation and planning, facilitating daily scrum, sprint planning, meetings, forecasting deliverables, tracking and removing impediments;
  • Generate new or unique solutions and embrace new ideas that help sustain our business (encompassing everything from continuous improvement to new product innovation)
  • Engage with key stakeholders as required to enhance security and risk related awareness and appropriately stretch and impact the corporation.;
  • Define future talent requirements and manage and coach employees within the team; and
  • Provide input in developing and executing business and financial plans for the Department.




  • Completion of an undergraduate University Degree in a related discipline or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent;
  • 5+ years of experience in management of a technical discipline and leading a team;
  • 5+ years of experience in IT Security;
  • 5+ years of experience in IT Networking, Application development or IT Operations
  • Certification and/or experience with the following is an asset: CISSP, CISM, GSEC, GCIH
  • Experience in an agile environment that creates and supports a culture that encourages a team of people to work toward a common goal in securing MPAC ecosystems;
  • Interpersonal, conflict resolution and relationship building skills to work with cross-functional teams, liaise effectively with staff, and develop vendor relationships;
  • Communication, influence and negotiation skills to negotiate service level agreements, and develop and deliver effective and persuasive presentations.
