Telecommunications & Network Support Analyst
The incumbent is responsible for the day to day administration and support of the telephone system including moves, adds, changes for staff; mobility and voicemail systems. Provides first level support of telephony, desktop, application and network systems. Maintains up to date documentation of the City’s telephony and network infrastructure including Handsets, DID’s, analog leased lines and SIP trunks.
Successful applicants will possess the following:
  • Post-secondary diploma/degree in computer science or a related discipline from a recognized educational institution.
  • Certified Network Associate (CCNA) designation is preferred however, any telecommunications or network certification is acceptable.
  • Two year’s experience in telecommunications and network administration, providing technical support for telephone SIP / IP phone systems and end-user support.
  • Excellent Knowledge of Telecommunication Phone Systems, Voicemail Systems and Mobility Applications.
  • Good working knowledge in Microsoft’s current desktop operating systems, including system installation, configuration, and administration.
  • Ability to quickly troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment and with all levels of corporate staff to quickly troubleshoot and resolve network problems.
  • Good knowledge of data backup concepts and systems.
  • Good working knowledge of networking / distributed computing environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (written and oral), customer service, organizational, and presentation skills.
  • Must be medically and physically fit to perform the duties of this position.
  • Must be willing to work irregular hours occasionally, including evenings and on weekends.
  • Must be prepared to undergo a Criminal Reference Check as a condition of employment.
  • Must possess a valid Class “G” Ontario Driver’s Licence and provide ongoing consent to conduct Driver’s Abstracts through the Ministry of Transportation. A clean driving record is preferred.
Compensation includes a comprehensive benefits package, pension plan and a salary ranging from $31.85/hr. to $35.39/hr. (based on a 35 hour work week).
