Do you enjoy a balance of leadership and hands on work in a fast-paced engineering environment? The County is looking to fill one of our managerial roles within our Development Services Department to oversee the day to day operations of Engineering Services.
Our Human Resources Department is currently accepting applications for the full-time position of Manager of Engineering. Reporting to the Director of Development the Manager of Engineering is responsible for the day to day operation of Engineering Services, including management of the group’s employees and utilization of external consulting resources. In addition, the Manager of Engineering will be the lead on assigned projects to ensure their successful implementation in accordance with the strategic directions of the County.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
  • University degree in Civil Engineering and a Professional Engineer designation (P. Eng) in good standing
  • years relevant work experience at the management level, municipal experience preferred
  • Relevant experience in Project Management and demonstrated application of the principles of the Project Management Institute preferred
  • Progressive and comprehensive knowledge and understanding of municipal infrastructure matters including roads, water and/or sewage operations, traffic design and management, storm water management and other aspects of municipal engineering
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills with the ability to exercise tact, diplomacy and good judgment at all times
  • Capable of identifying problems and troubleshooting with the ability to make sound decisions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and engineering software such as AutoCAD, project management, water and sewer system modeling, and storm water management modeling
  • Valid Class “G” driver’s licence required


The current annual salary range for this position is $86,890 to $105,578 as per Band 7 of the Non-Union By-Law. Compensation also includes a competitive benefit package and membership in OMERS. Please submit your cover letter and resume prior to 4:00 pm on May 27, 2020 to
